Changes

  • Added centroid based pore pressure computation for permeable intervals
  • Added unloading effects in pore pressure calculation
  • UI overhaul
  • Added the ability to add/edit formation database from inside the app
  • Interpret SH/sh ratio for formations, which will be used to compute SHMax, if provided, else stress polygon values will be used
  • Added support for biot's constant to be modified for each formation
  • Stresses are now computed throughout the well
  • Added Willson Sanding Model
  • Added Modified Lade Critical Mudweight
  • Plotting engine has been revamped
  • Added unit conversions, all units can now be customised
  • Added settings panel to change plot parameters and aliases from within the app
  • Added binary for debian in this release

Known Issues

  • The packaged versions are not code-signed. Over-ride security settings if desired and install. The recommended way is to build from source as described in the readme. The windows package, after installation, probably requires running with admin privileges on first run when the directory structures are created.
  • The MacOS version has a known bug where using the edit window to enter/edit the UCS data causes the app to crash when calculations are run. I am looking into this, for now please use the old "Load UCS from csv" as a workaround

Current Usability

  • Should be usable in a wide variety of settings, possibly universal.

1.0.4 Release Notes

Changes

  • Thermal effects will now be computed.
  • The old version model and alias are no longer supported. Delete the old model and alias files if upgrading from an older version. The new version will write fresh model and alias files.

Known Issues

  • The packaged versions are not code-signed. Over-ride security settings if desired and install. The recommended way is to build from source as described in the readme. The windows package, after installation, probably requires running with admin privileges on first run when the directory structures are created.
  • Sanding prediction not yet implemented, planned for inclusion in next major release
  • Pore pressure due to unloading effects not yet implemented, planned for inclusion in next major release
  • Hydrological effects modeling have not been implemented
  • Carbonate Pore Pressure modeling has not been implemented

Current Usability

  • Probably useful as is for shale plays
  • Should also be useful for some clastic plays (especially tight ones)

The stability plots have been improved to some degree.

Known Issues:

  • Do not use the tilt stress tensor input. It currently does not work as expected.
  • Rest of the features work fine far as I can tell.
  • More testing required
  • Bug fixes galore

Known Issues:

  • The stability plot annotations are horrible, will fix in next version
  • The MacOS version is not notarised, if you encounter problems with running it, please recompile from the source as described in the ReadMe
  • Icons are not fully implemented, may be wonky
  • Splashscreen does not work
  • Basic Functionality is working, more testing and bugfixes required
  • A debian release was planned but turned out to be absolutely horrible, so currently scrapped. Will add in future if and when problems are fixed
