Support reopening log files

Make it possible to reopen log files.

Note that the log files might not contain all the same information, and parsing arbitrary log files might be too awkward - so we might need to assume a fixed format.

(This is an optional 'nice-to-have' feature, but may be more trouble than it's worth)
