+1 on this, might bring people who can contribute, although that could be for better or for worse. During major refactors it could be a bit annoying.

I'm thinking about this issue. I agree that posting screenshots here would visually indicate the status of the project. However, I'm concerned about the sole copyright holder of all extant content (including third party works - see the original EULA). I would prefer not to include that copyrighted material in the main repository, even if it is widely considered fair use.

Can a file in their format that is made for this project and never released as a mod be claimed under their eula?

Maybe. But if you make a small change to the format so that the file is no longer compatible with the original engine, you can get around it.

I think the next best thing to a screenshot would just be to have a Status section like https://github.com/xoreos/xoreos has, just a small bit about what's implemented, what isn't, what needs work.
