What started as a rebuild request for linux-amd-znver3 became a rabbit hole. The pkg was out of sync version-wise with the AUR. I downloaded the version 6.10.6-1 from Sun 25 Aug 2024 06:01:25 AM EDT but it was really strange in that it was well over 1.7G where normally most kernels were less 150M. Thought it may have be something with the pkgbuild as there were a few changes so I made an inquiry on the AUR pkg page while pulling a few different pre-built kernels to try to understand what happened.
Then that particular pkg disappeared from chaotic-aur an hour ago ? And then a bunch of new pkgs following linux-znv* naming format appeared ? The build time is Mon 26 Aug 2024 05:14:30 PM EDT...
But... it appears to be within the same size ballpark as most kernels, so trying to understand what is going on, what should I be using, where is the corresponding PKGBUILD, is the linux-amd (which I believe is the znver4 tuned) going to follow the same naming format, etc, etc.
