Many games like this have an option to share your results at the end and it saves some kind of text to the clipboard, some examples:

Wordle 939 3/6

I would love to be able to share results with a link back to the application so others can try to compete with your score.

This has become really pressing for the physical arcade at TU Delft Library!

Some ideas:

  • A local scoreboard with clumsy name input
  • A QR-code on the result page (for the physical arcade) linking to a website that is immediately sharable on multiple platforms. Could be a generated screenshot that is available for 24hrs. Are there existing services for that?
  • Additional .env variables to customize the results (and add social media tags/mentions)
  • A dedicated social media account for the Arcade where the high scores are collected, and results can be posted
  • A camera in the physical arcade that takes a picture of the gamers (after permission) for the local scoreboard
  • A link to the Allmaps Viewer with the 5 maps of the game included in the social media post
