Choosing a channel from the extension's dropdown list or clicking on a live notification of the Firefox add-on results in Twitch error and the stream will not be played.
Firefox Version: 77.0.1 (64-bit)

I'm glad to see the Chrome version of the plugin on the Chrome Web Store was updated on 30.06.2020 with version number 1.1.219.
Unfortunately the Firefox version of the plugin on the Firefox Add-On website is still at version 1.1.213 from 21.01.2020 and thus the issue still persists on Firefox.

Could you please update the version on the Firefox Add-On website, too?
Thank you very much in advance

I learned that the error only occurs if the option "Open streams at" in Settings is set to "html5 player (no flash plugin required)".
