We are interested in using Vertically Integrated Water Vapor Flux as an output of UPP in SRWapp for our work with NOAA HMT. NCEP GRIB2 doc (Table 4.2.1) calls this variable CWVF, column integrated water vapor flux. This has been identified as a critical feature for intense rainfall events -- think LLJ and Atmospheric Rivers -- but the variable does not seem to be in the UPP from documentation I can find. We can get an estimate from pressure-level output, but like PWAT, it'd be better to integrate in the model coordinates. Before we start modifying code to add this, has anyone already gone down this road? |

@gspetro-NOAA It seems to me this CWVF is new added in grib2 table 4.2-0-1. There is no new g2tmpl lib available for UPP output this product. I invite @AndrewBenjamin-NOAA in this discussion. He has been in charged of requesting new WMO id and updating g2tpl lib. |

@WenMeng-NOAA I have a PR submitted to the gtmpl team that is awaiting review (NOAA-EMC/NCEPLIBS-g2tmpl#106). That has CWVF added to g2tmpl and others. I can reach back out and try to figure out the update status. |

@AndrewBenjamin-NOAA Thanks for updates. Once a new version of g2tmpl is available, can you submit a PR to update params_grib2_tbl_new and params_grib2_tbl_new.text under UPP/parm. |

@kbrews CWVF was added to the UPP last week in PR #880 .
