Breathe-India-Project

This Project is a bot meant to amplify the request for supplies on Twitter that are needed all over India due to COVID-19 using the Twitter Developer API. Please click the following link to see the bot account: https://twitter.com/BreatheIndia21

Description

THe project works with mentions. When a user tags the bot with the word 'request' and adds their details on the tweet the bot takes those deatils and information and tweets it out on its own. This ensures an amplification of supply requests and also holds a central account for people to refer to if they want to give those supplies

Getting Started

  • Users: Tag the bot on twitter and tweet like this: @BreatheIndia21 request Need supply x supply y and supply z. Location: myLocation. Contact: Mynumber

  • Developers:

  1. Clone the repo.
  2. Get a Twitter developer account/ Twitter developer credentials
  3. Create Twitter APP
  4. Add credentials in a file called "config.js" as app.js depends on this
  5. Run the script file once done make sure to change the tag in parameters to your account's tag

Dependencies

  • Uses node hence make sure node is installed and uses Heroku as well.

Executing program

  • node app.js
