Re-use pre-processed files from a previous run but using a different recipe (that require the same preproc)

Hi,
I've seen that it is possible to re-use the same preproc from a previous run using something like this: esmvaltool run recipe_example.yml --resume_from ~/esmvaltool_output/recipe_python_20210930_123907

I wonder if i is possible to use the same preproc but with a different recipe (that need the same preproc)?

Hi, afaik (I could be wrong) only identical recipes can be resumed. A copied version of the original recipe is saved in the output folder and used to continue the run. However, maybe it is an option to create a single larger recipe containing different tasks and only run some of them using the --diagnostics option. Different blocks of diagnostics based on the same preprocessor would share the preprocessed data.
